The third day of Navratri pooja is dedicated to Durga Chandraghanta (चंद्रघंटा). She is the third form of Goddess Navadurga of the nine forms of navadrga.
In this form, her body is of golden color and has ten hands, three eyes and rides a lion. She wears a half moon (Chandra) shaped Bell (Ghanta) on her forehead, that’s where the name comes from.
Goddess Chandraghanta in her ten hands, hold various weapons such as Trishul, Bell, Lotus, Gada, Sword, Bow, Arrow and so on. This avatar shows she is ready to fight the evil and destroy the daemons. The Lion represents bravery and courage.
Chandraghanta blesses people with good health, grace, courage and happiness.
On this third day of Navratri, saints/yogis concentrate on Manipura (navel) chakra.
